Camper Application Parent Information

General Residential Camps: Participate in all the activities Wildwood has to offer at one of these five-day, age specific camps. In addition to rotating through all of the unique outdoor activities with your cabin, you will have the opportunity to get to know even more new friends as you compete side-by-side for the championship title throughout the week. Grow spiritually as we sing, watch dramas and learn about Jesus from guest speakers in daily chapels. Spaces are limited so sign up soon! (For ages and dates see the descriptions below.)

L.I.T. (Leaders in Training) / W.I.T. (Wranglers in Training): L.I.T. / W.I.T.  is an intensive program for spiritually mature Christian teens who desire to grow in leadership and in their relationship with the Lord. The week includes Bible classes, activity classes, cabin duties and bond building. Our volunteer Junior Staff and Junior Wranglers for other weeks of camp will be selected from the L.I.T. and W.I.T.  participants. Applicants will be screened to determine which campers qualify. There are a limited number of available spaces, so please apply early. (Ages 14-17, June 14-18, 2008)

Horsemanship Camps: Saddle up for a week of horsemanship, riding and summer fun. Supervised ground and Western riding lessons are taught daily by CHA certified riding instructors.

  • Buckaroos
    This program is a course for introductory and intermediate horseback riders that teaches safety, basic horse care and riding control at the walk and trot. This 2-1/2 hour per day Western program features a trail ride and a cookout. (Ages 10-12, July 14-18, 2008)

  • Mavericks
    This Western equestrian program introduces new riders to horses and enhances skills for intermediate riders. For 2-1/2 hours per day, campers learn safety and horse care techniques, equipment training, and have the opportunity to develop riding skills. This program features a trail ride and a cookout. (Ages 13-15, July 14-18, 2008)

Sports Camps: Learn new skills or work on your game. Basketball and soccer are just two of the team sports featured in a wide range of sports activities. (Ages 11-15, Sports Camp #1—July 14-18, 2008; Sports Camp #2—August 11-15, 2008)

Exodus Adventure Camps: Exodus Adventure camps are for campers who want to see nature and how God intended it to look. These camps include hiking, rock climbing and canoeing. The main purpose of these camps is to focus our minds on Jesus. These adventures will not only open your mind to see God in a different way but will also push you in ways that you have never been pushed before.

  • Huron River Canoe Trip
    Do you desire to learn to work as a part of a team? Throughout this trip you will learn to work with a partner, cook as a team and enjoy God’s creation as you canoe the beautiful Huron River. (Ages 14-17, June 23 - 27, 2008

  • Manistee National Forest Backpack Trips
    This intermediate backpack trip takes place in the only National  Forest in Michigan’s lower peninsula. Sandy, rolling and forested hills make this the ideal spot to spend on the trails. (Ages 14-17, Trip #1: July 14-18, 2008; Trip #2: July 28 - August 1, 2008; Trip #3: August 11-15, 2008)

  • Adventure Challenge Week
    This adventure is based on the Wildwood Ranch property. You will participate in group camping and cooking, the high ropes course, a canoeing field trip and many more exciting experiences. (Ages 14-17, June 30 - July 4, 2008)
